Now here's the not quite as good news

Paul Weller has ruled out any chance of reuniting The Jam.

The band's former frontman, who will be honoured at next year's Brits with an Outstanding Contribution To British Music Award, has said he will never reform the three-piece where he initially made his name.

"Nah that would never happen. Why would I want to go back? For nostalgic reasons? That's never good enough," he told Uncut. "My philosophy is to embrace the new day and get on with it. If The Jam reformed now it'd just be a sad cabaret and that's not what I'm about at all."

Weller also added that recent reports that he is worth £165m were wide of the mark.

"Noel Gallagher called me up when he read that and said, 'You've been holding out on me, you tight bastard - lend us a tenner," he recalled. "But £165 (million) is way, way off what I'm worth. If anyone knows where all those missing millions have gone, please give me a call."

Paul Weller recebe o seu Lifetime Achievement Award, nos Brits Awards, a 15 de Fevereiro de 2006, em Londres.

É um prémio de alto prestígio, que só foi atribuído até agora uma vez na História dos Brits, concretamente a Pete Townshend(The Who), em 1983. Em edições anteriores, partilharam o prémio de Outstanding Contribution nomes como Sting, U2, Fleetwood Mac, Bee Gees, Van Morisson, David Bowie e Elton John, entre outros.

Começa este blog assim: Paul Weller cancelado em Madrid (03/11/05)!
Devido à rua de acesso ao clube Riviera estar em obras, os camiões do P.A. não puderam descarregar...
Balde de água fria ao chegar dos viajantes, valeu, 2 dias depois, a excelente prestação dos The Coral e o arrebatador concerto dos Oasis no Pavilhão dos Desportos de Madrid, para cerca de 12 mil pessoas.
A movida modernista madrilena continua em franca ascensão, como o provaram as visitas ao Moloko Sound Club (onde dias antes estiveram os Teenage Fanclub, e no próprio dia do cancelamento, o teclista de Weller) e à noite temática do Supersonic.
Weller promete regressar a Madrid em 2006...
